 Waminda is celebrating 2025, by bringing everyone together at our annual Christmas Lunch. This year we will celebrate at Benalla Town Hall Dec 10th, at 12 noon. 16 days Against Gender-Based Violence

Waminda have partnered with Benalla Council to raise awareness of the 16 days of activism against Gender-Based Violence. Show your support by joining us on Thursday Nov 27th after school. There will be childrens activities, and Police to chat with. On the 4th December at 11am there will be Coffee with a Cop during Food Share at Waminda. 

Indigenous mural reveal and Xmas party

Come to Waminda on Dec. 8th 5:30pm to see the grand unveiling of the Indigenous mural that the Anganya program participants from Tomorrow Today, Kiley Walkerden from VACCA and Aunty Carol and Aunty Sheryl have created. Community will also be asked to leave their mark on another mural created this day!

We will have other fun, and xmas cheer all around with a special end of year performance from ONE - Waminda's song and dance group. And we'll fill our bellies with some delicious food. All invited. We look forward to seeing you there.

Be Connected - building digital skills for over 50's

This program is simple - it's providing free tech support to people over 50. The program aims to build digital literacy skills and confidence using the Be Connected Learning site. Support can be provided 1 on 1 or as a group. The type of support provided is guided by what people need and want to learn. 

Power Saving Bonus

The new $100 Power Saving Bonus for Victorian concession card holders is now open. Households with an eligible concession card can apply for a $100 payment by visiting the Victorian Energy Compare website here. To get help to apply, call Waminda on 0491 630 213 or visit us at 19 Ballintine St, Benalla. 

To apply for the $100 payment, applicants will need to hold an eligible concession card, have a recent electricity bill and be the account holder. Only one payment is available per household.

Opening Hours

Waminda is open to the community, Monday to Thursday 9am to 4pm.

The house is closed Fridays, weekends and public holidays.  Also school holidays unless otherwise advertised.

 

Membership

The community are invited to become members of Waminda Community House. Membership provides opportunities to build skills, be heard and develop the community.  Discount is offered for courses as well as free entry to some Waminda events during the year. Members have voting rights and are able to stand for and elect members to the Board of Management.
